Fasting...every anorexic's wish and strongest point, and unfortunately also the time when you're most likely to trip, fall, and binge hugely. I have a few golden rules for fasting:
1: Pray the night before you start. No I'm not joking. This is coming from the most ardent aetheist ever, but seriously, praying before makes a huge difference, almost as if there's some kind of Divine Intervention...
2: Start the morning off with 2 massive glasses of water, then drink lots throughout the day.
3: Cigarettes and chewing gum help a lot during a fast, as does keeping busy.
4: Try to do as much exercise as possible for the first 1-4 days; this is when your body will be using most of it's resources, and therefore you want to burn as many calories as possible.
5: Days 1-4 are the hardest. Usually always when you binge....so keep occupied and keep a diary, think of the end result.
Fasting is one of the best ways to lose wight fast. Fasting basically means abstaining from all solid foods, having things like water, fruit juice, soups etc. Every day you fast uses on average about 2000 calories, which is a helluva lot, and at the end of a 5 day fast you can usually expect to have lost about 10lbs. If breaking a fast, drink lots of fruit juice and soups, but try not to have solids. Your body will 9 times out of 10 reject it and demand more as the stomach has shrunk quickly then been stretched. If, whilst on a fast, you get an uncontrollable urge to binge, make up some low-cal soup. Forget the appetite suppressants, these will not work at that time, the only thing to do is to fill your stomach, but with nothing solid. Also, give it the chance to burn off even the most miniscule amount of calories. After this, drink lots and lots of water. I would like some feedback on this actually, please sign the guestbook.
